The Brissette’s lakester and I went to the cedar city jamboree car show on July 10, 2010

We had quite a few people asking what kind of car it was and wanted some history.

Well that is one reason I took the lakester to the car show to promote our sport.

We were there for 10/15 mins when a man walked up with a six year old in a wheelchair who has Cerebral Palsy. He was really impressed with the lakester so I asked him if he wanted to sit in it.

I will tell you I have never seen a smile so big before as when we put him in the car (this is against the car show rule to let people sit in your car I was promptly disqualified) anyway a reporter from the Spectrum here in Utah saw what was happing and came over and talked to me.

Well this is what I told him.

That I grew up in a racing  family and that my dad bob was the 28th person to join the 2-club and to verify look at the 2-club roster under year of induction and he is the first for 1957, and that he got in with a speed of 205.644 mph in the lakester class we are running today.

Then I said that the record for this is now 280 Mph on the b-class engine, And I had been 265 mph (rounded up from 264 mph) then I told him that last year was when we went 264.mph on the (C CLASS ) record of 271mph.

Well anyways he made it sound like I was a tot when my dad in 57 set the record well I was born 63

And at the beginning the article it makes it sound like our lakester was the record holder of the 280mph.

I would like to set strait that the reporter typed it up the way they wanted to make it sound better????

I think.

Any ways the kid with the Cerebral Palsy had been in the car the whole time soaking up every second of it and now the mom was there and to see the look on the mom & dads faces told me that this was one of the most uplifting  things for their son in a long time.

So you all should know how I am by now  I chalked the wheel and I already had the axles out  and started the lakester for him the smile went from the big one that was there before to  as large as the quarter moon.  If I have done any good deeds in my life that I will be remember for I will hope that god will remember this one.
